Hi I’m Navin Kumar M. My focus is on building robust, trustworthy, and scalable AI systems for real-world problems. I’m passionate about creating AI products that solve complex challenges at a scale beyond human capability and deliver meaningful societal impact. I believe that for AI to truly achieve this, it must remain explainable, transparent, and accountable, especially in high-stakes settings.

I have spent the last few years deploying ML systems for millions of users across India and Africa, inspired by Branch International’s mission (backed by a16z) to expand financial access in emerging markets through mobile devices. At Branch, I led the development of credit risk models that reduced APRs by 29% and enabled more than $100M in responsible financial access, while also building distributed training infrastructure that accelerated experimentation by 10x.

Today, as the CTO of an AI startup, I am building an enterprise ML platform for the procurement industry, powered by AI-driven search, recommendation, and analytic engines, along with advanced document intelligence systems. My focus is on designing scalable components that deliver tangible value to enterprises.
